Gor Mahia, the reigning SportPesa Premier League champions, have made significant moves to bolster their squad ahead of the upcoming CECAFA Club Championships in Rwanda.

On Tuesday evening, the K'Ogalo camp welcomed five new players, including top scorer Dennis Oalo and wing wizard Curtis Wekesa from Nairobi Stima, who have signed four-year contracts.

Oalo, who emerged as the National Super League top scorer last season, will join forces with Wekesa, who contributed nine goals and 15 assists from the wing as Stima staged a spirited fight for promotion that ended in the play-offs against Posta Rangers.

The duo's arrival is part of a larger recruitment drive by Gor Mahia, who have also signed midfielder Tobias Otieno and right back Abdalla Shura from Sony, while centre back Elvis Ronak has joined from Nzoia Sugar.

The five new signings join three youth team players promoted to the senior ranks last week, with the club now focused on recruiting a proven striker, likely a foreigner.

As part of their preparations for the CECAFA Club Championships, Gor Mahia have also parted ways with lead striker Jacques Tuyisenge and midfielder Francis Kahata, while defenders Harun Shakava and Philemon Otieno have been angling for moves away from the club.

Wazito have tabled a Sh4 million offer for Shakava, who has six months left on his contract, while Zambian side Zanaco and Al Hilal of Sudan have also expressed interest in the defender.
