Safaricom announced that all shops across the country will close for four hours on July 4, 2019, in honor of their late CEO Bob Collymore.

Collymore, who died at his Nairobi residence on July 2, 2019, after battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) for about two years, will be remembered during a memorial service at All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi.

"As a mark of respect for our cherished leader, Safaricom shall be closing all our shops countrywide on Thursday 4th July 2019 between the hours of 10.30am and 2.30pm," the company said in a statement.
