Harambee Stars Return Home After Africa Cup of Nations

On Wednesday, July 3, 2019, Harambee Stars departed Cairo for Nairobi at 10:45 pm Kenyan time, according to the Football Kenya Federation.

The team, which finished third in Group C in Egypt, is expected to arrive in Nairobi on Thursday at 3:30 am.

During their Africa Cup of Nations campaign, Harambee Stars secured a 3-2 win over Tanzania but suffered losses to Algeria and Senegal.

Algeria's Desert Foxes topped the group, while Senegal secured the second automatic qualifying spot.

Kenya's Sports Cabinet Secretary, Amb. Amina Mohamed, hosted a luncheon for the team in Egypt on Tuesday, accompanied by Kenyan Ambassador to Egypt Joff Otieno.

With their Africa Cup of Nations campaign concluded, Harambee Stars will shift their focus to the upcoming Africa Nations Championships (Chan) qualifiers, where they will face Tanzania in the first round later this month.

The first leg will be played between July 26-28, with the second leg set for August 4 in Nairobi.
