Dennis Itumbi, a digital strategist based at the office of Deputy President William Ruto, was arrested by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations in Nairobi's Central Business District.
Itumbi was taken to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations offices along Kiambu Road for further interrogation.
His lawyer, Moses Chesang', stated that Itumbi was arrested over links to an alleged assassination letter published in the public domain.
Three Cabinet Secretaries, Peter Munya of Trade, Joe Mucheru of ICT, and Sicily Kariuki of Health, were summoned at the Directorate of Criminal Investigation last Monday over the same letter.
Itumbi is expected to spend the night at Muthaiga Police Station and will be charged in court on Thursday.
His lawyer, Moses Chesang', expressed uncertainty about the charges preferred against Itumbi.
