Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia FC are gearing up for the new season with a flurry of signings. According to the club's Secretary General Ronald Ngala, all five deals are at an advanced stage and are expected to be completed in the coming days.

The players in question are Dennis Oalo of Nairobi Stima, Sony sugar duo Abdalla Shura and Tobias Otieno, Elvis Ranock of Nzoia Sugar, and Curtis Wekesa of Nairobi Stima. Ngala clarified that while the signings have been rushed by the media, the players are currently training with the team and will append their signatures once the coach finalizes the list.

Ngala also addressed reports of a mini-exodus at the club, stating that captain Harun Shakava, Philemon Otieno, and Francis Kahata are expected to leave the team. The club is, however, actively seeking a local or international striker to replace Rwandese striker Jacques Tuyisenge, who has joined Petro de Luanda of Angola.

‘Our midfield is packed, and we are seriously looking for a striker either locally or from other leagues. That is our major area of concern,' Ngala said in an interview with Citizen Digital.

Ngala also denied reports of a potential signing of Rwandese midfielder Djabel Manishimwe from Rayon Sports. The club will depart for the CECAFA Kagame cup in Kigali on July 5, with Otieno and Joash Onyango joining the team following Harambee Stars' exit from AFCON.
