On July 3, 2019, a photo of Jacque Maribe, a Citizen TV journalist, hugging Dennis Itumbi at the DCI headquarters surfaced online.
Itumbi was arrested by the flying squad from the CBD while having lunch at Charlie's Bistro.
Hours after his arrest, a photo of him and Maribe at the DCI headquarters emerged, showing the two in high spirits.
Itumbi, who is employed by the government in the digital department, posed with his trademark stance, 'One man one woman,' in a bid to lampoon his online critics.
Maribe's visit to the DCI offices has sparked rumors about their relationship, with many questioning the level of dedication and attention they give to each other's legal problems.
Itumbi is set to spend the night at Muthaiga Police station before he is arraigned in court the next day, after the DCI denied him police bail.
The police have not yet disclosed the charges they will bring against Itumbi, but sources indicate that they are considering Section 66 of the Penal Code, which deals with publishing alarming material.
