On August 31, 2021, Lucy Wanjiru buried her two sons, Fredrick Muriithi and Victor Mwangi, who were brutally murdered in Kitengela. The painful experience has left her struggling with mental health issues.

Speaking on Radio Jambo, Wanjiru revealed that her children were her close confidants, and she often thinks about the pain they endured before their death. She described the wounds on their bodies as 'almost every part' and expressed her fear of not knowing why they were killed.

Wanjiru asked for help, admitting that she was having a hard time dealing with the loss of her sons. She requested counselling and prayers, stating that she finds herself imagining what her sons went through during their final moments.

Her sons' death has left her living in fear, and she is unsure why they were targeted. Wanjiru's case is one of the many instances of mob justice in Kenya, where individuals are killed by groups of people over suspicion or mistaken identity.
