On July 3, 2019, FBI officers handed a report to the DCI, concluding their investigation into a plot to murder Deputy President William Ruto.
Just days later, on Wednesday, Flying squad officers picked up Dennis Itumbi, Secretary digital, Innovations in the office of the Deputy President, from his City Hall office for questioning.
Itumbi's arrest is linked to his alleged involvement in the murder plot, which was mentioned in a local newspaper report.
However, Itumbi had previously dismissed the report as 'poor journalism done without facts and figures.'
