On July 4, 2019, Safaricom will observe a four-hour closure of all its shops in Kenya as a mark of respect for the late CEO Bob Collymore.

Collymore, who passed away on July 1, 2019, at the age of 61, had been battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia since 2017.

"As a mark of respect for our cherished leader, Safaricom shall be closing all our shops countrywide on Thursday 4th July 2019 between the hours of 10.30am and 2.30pm," the telco said in a statement.

The shops will be closed from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm to allow Kenyans to reflect on Collymore's life during a memorial service at the All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi.
