On July 4, 2019, Safaricom shops countrywide will observe a moment of silence in honour of their late CEO Bob Collymore.

As a mark of respect, all Safaricom shops will close from 10:30am to 2:30pm on that day.

During this period, a memorial service will be held at All Saints Cathedral, where Kenyans are expected to pay their last respects to the late Collymore.

Collymore, who succumbed to cancer at his Nairobi home on July 1, 2019, had been battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) for almost two years.

He leaves behind a wife and four children.

On July 2, 2019, Collymore was cremated at the Kariokor Crematorium.
