Google's top trending internet searches in June revealed a mix of sports, local news, and everyday concerns.
According to Google, the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Cairo, Egypt, which started on June 21 and ended on July 18, took the top spot in the trending searches.
Kenyan football fans went online to find out more about their teams and players, with the competition bringing together 24 teams competing for the highest football honour for the first time.
France is hosting the tournament, which was a major draw for Kenyan internet users.
Another local story that made it to the top 10 trending searches was the fire that occurred at Malik Heights building along Ngong road in Nairobi last month.
The fire destroyed over 69 high-end vehicles worth Sh600 million, and CCTV footage showed a man believed to be a former employee sprinkling petrol before lighting the fire.
Other terms that made it to the top 10 trending searches include 'KRA Portal', 'KNBS Census', 'Father's Day', 'Margaret Ogola', 'Esther Passaris', 'Ebola', and the 'New Kenyan currency.'
Kenya is currently replacing its old currencies, with the older versions of smaller denominations still in circulation but set to become invalid after October 1.
Kenyan internet users also searched for information on how to apply for census jobs, write application letters, and pay Tala loans.
