On August 24, 2021, a tragic incident occurred in Chepkogem village, Bomet County, where a 4-year-old boy was pushed into a 40-meter-deep well by his mother.
According to the DCI report, Sharon Chebet allegedly pushed her son into the well, which is 40 meters deep, causing him to drown.
A neighbor who witnessed the incident intervened and alerted others, who rushed to the scene and rescued the boy.
The motive behind Sharon's actions remains unknown, and investigations are ongoing.
Longisa, the area chief, has been informed of the incident.
