As the head of Content Development at Kenya Airways, Rehema Kahurananga's daily routine has undergone significant changes due to the pandemic. She now follows a hybrid model, alternating between working from home and visiting the office.

One hour in the morning is crucial for her, as she dedicates it to personal time, which she believes is essential for a working mother like herself. She reads 'The 5 AM Club' by Robin Sharma, emphasizing the importance of focusing on oneself, especially during busy days.

Rehema is not a morning person, but she has come to appreciate the value of having a full hour to herself. She uses this time to connect with God, work on personal projects, and spend quality time with her 11-year-old son.

As a solo parent, Rehema's days are filled with responsibilities, but she makes it a point to bond with her son during their daily car rides to school. She believes that storytelling is her strength, and her career in communication and journalism has been a natural fit.

Rehema has also discovered the power of networking, which she initially found daunting due to her introverted nature. However, she has learned to be gentle with herself and has found that social media platforms like LinkedIn and Clubhouse can be effective tools for connecting with others.

She emphasizes the importance of self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-love, which have helped her set boundaries, prioritize her needs, and avoid trying to be perfect. Rehema's self-care routine includes taking time for herself, pursuing personal projects, and being intentional about spending quality time with loved ones.

She has learned to appreciate the value of nature and has started exploring walking trails and discovering new outdoor activities. Rehema's love for reading has led her to enjoy books like 'Stay with Me' by Ayobami Adebayo and 'Homegoing' by Yaa Gyasi, and she also enjoys cooking, particularly making her son's favorite chicken sandwich.
