On August 23, 2021, the Federation of Women Lawyers [FIDA] Kenya kicked off a series of regional meetings to empower women leaders in the 47 counties.

The initiative aims to build a stronger movement for women's rights and safety against gender violence.

FIDA Kenya's Executive Director, Anne Ireri, emphasized the organization's commitment to supporting women's political participation, not just in the 2022 general elections, but beyond.

“I wish to refute claims the organization is focusing only on women political participation in the 2022 polls as it also focuses beyond next year’s election,” she pointed out.

Ireri assured women aspirants that FIDA Kenya will provide them with support and blessings, leveraging their expertise on property issues to address the challenges they may face.

The organization will also advocate for the two-thirds gender requirement in political parties, ensuring that women have a fair share of representation.

As the 2022 elections approach, FIDA Kenya is committed to supporting women candidates and promoting their rights.
