On a typical day, most of us wake up with a sense of purpose, ready to tackle our goals and make progress. But for many, this sense of direction often falters, leaving us feeling lost and unproductive. This was the problem that Moses Sukali, co-founder of Notebooks Kenya, aimed to solve when he started his business during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As the world grappled with the new reality of working from home, Sukali saw an opportunity to turn his personal passion for journaling and stationery into a business. With the help of his partner, he started creating guided notebooks that would help people win at work and succeed in life.
According to Sukali, writing down one's thoughts and to-do lists can have a profound impact on productivity and emotional well-being. 'When we write down our thoughts, it usually decreases the intensity of the emotion and helps us articulate what we’re feeling and why we’re feeling that way,' he explains.
Since its inception, Notebooks Kenya has introduced a range of innovative products, including the Life Planner, Productivity Planner, Study Planner, Sermon Notes, and Ruled Notebooks. These products are designed to help individuals achieve their goals and develop good habits.
One of the key factors that has contributed to the success of Notebooks Kenya is its partnership with Jumia, the e-commerce platform. Jumia has not only opened up the company's products to a countrywide market but has also played a crucial role in creating product awareness through its marketing campaigns.
Looking to the future, Notebooks Kenya plans to intensify local manufacturing by investing in a production facility. This move is expected to create opportunities for more young people and ensure that customers receive high-quality products at affordable rates.
