On August 21, 2021, a somber mood engulfed Mwala, Machakos county, as the community bid farewell to Nicholas Musa, the last victim in the heinous Kitengela murders.

Nicholas, 29, was laid to rest at his father's home, surrounded by family and friends who eulogized the young man.

His father, Patrick Musa, expressed forgiveness towards the attackers but emphasized the need for justice to be served for his son and his three other friends who were murdered alongside him on August 8.

"I have forgiven him and said that if anyone will show me the way, it should be through the government. I don't want any other way," Patrick Musa said.

Nicholas's sister, Lucy Mutende, delivered an emotional tribute, remembering the moments she shared with her brother.

"It is very painful that you are not here with us, but I know I will always feel your presence within us. Rest easy and always know that we will always remember you, we shall forget you," she said, as she broke down to tears.

The four friends, including Fredrick Mureithi, Victor Mwangi, and Mike Onduso, were hacked to death by herders who suspected they were cattle thieves. They had packed their sports bikes at the Kisanju area as they tried to repair one that had developed a broken down.

Before meeting their deaths, the friends spent the day celebrating Victor's 25th birthday.

Mike was buried on Thursday in Nyamira, while Fredrick and Victor were interred in Mayu village, Nyandarua county on Friday.
