On August 20th, a letter believed to be written by Anita Okoye, wife of Nigerian musician Paul Okoye, alias Rudeboy, seeking to dissolve their marriage made rounds on social media platforms. The letter, which has not been publicly confirmed, has sparked rumors of marital issues between the couple.
According to reports, Anita had previously deleted her husband's photos from her Instagram page, fueling speculation about the state of their marriage. The two have been married since 2014 and have three children together.
When reached for comment, Rudeboy's lawyer, Somadina Eugene Okorie, stated that he had not received any notification concerning the supposed divorce. He added, 'I don't think this subject worth breaking a sweat on, since as I talk with you, I'm yet to receive a brief touching the news already in circulation. If the story was real I would have been briefed by now and this is devoid of sentiments.'
The couple's marriage has been the subject of speculation in recent times, with some reports suggesting that Anita had been planning to leave Rudeboy for some time. However, neither party has publicly commented on the matter.
