On August 21, 2021, The Standard Group's CEO, Orlando Lyomu, announced plans to expand the company's digital platforms to reach more people.
During a meeting with Pwani Oil Products director Rajul Malde, Lyomu emphasized the importance of simplifying and diversifying content to cater to the interests of the audience.
"We are simplifying products to where people's interests are. We want to provide extra solutions to the people. We want to create compelling platforms," Lyomu said, highlighting the company's commitment to promoting education, health, and environment through its media platforms.
The Standard Group team visited the Pwani Oil Products factory in Kikambala, Kilifi County, where they were taken on a tour of the oil and soap manufacturing plant.
Malde, the director of Pwani Oil Products, emphasized the significance of digital content and called for increased awareness on agriculture to boost farmers' production.
He also highlighted the importance of literacy in driving economic growth, citing the company's sponsorship of a countrywide essay competition in primary schools.
