On August 21, 2021, Réseau, an Indian startup, opened applications for the Wazo Challenge East Africa, a program that provides selected startups with mentorship, technology credits, and funding.
Founded in February, Réseau has already completed three venture boot camps in the region, including the Wazo Challenge Tanzania, and has amassed a portfolio of 44 tech startups.
The accelerator is open to startups that use technology to create innovative and scalable solutions in financial, healthcare, agriculture, energy, and education services.
“Our broader thesis is that Africa has African problems that must be solved by African talent using technology, which is what we are here to facilitate through our programs,” said Ajay Ramasubramaniam, founder and CEO of Startup Réseau.
Following the submission of an application, 12 startups will be chosen to participate in a month-long program with Startup Réseau’s global network of mentors, investors, industry experts, and successful entrepreneurs.
Each selected startup will receive Ksh. 16,432,500 ($150,000) in technology credits from FreshWorks, AWS, IBM, Digital Ocean, and HubSpot, among others.
