Kenya Airways has taken a significant step towards enhancing customer and staff health and safety at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by introducing contactless transactions.
As of September 1, 2021, customers will be able to use mobile money, credit, or debit cards to make transactions, including purchasing tickets and paying for checked-in baggage.
According to Julius Thairu, Acting Chief Commercial and Customer Experience Officer, the initiative aligns with the airline's strategy to develop sustainable business operations through innovative processes and technologies.
“The aviation industry is increasingly adopting touchless technologies to keep passengers safe, and the COVID-19 pandemic has only heightened the ability to transition to a contactless environment,” Thairu said.
With the implementation of contactless transactions, Kenya Airways aims to minimize future disruptions and offer efficient services to its customers.
