On August 21, 2021, UAP Old Mutual Group introduced AfyaImara Seniors Cover, an improved insurance solution designed to provide medical insurance coverage for individuals aged 65 to 80.
Once enrolled, policyholders are covered for life, eliminating the risk of coverage expiration due to age.
The solution includes COVID-19 treatment for moderate and critical cases, in addition to a wide range of services such as inpatient hospitalization, outpatient treatment, optical, and dental services with increased limits.
According to Japheth Ogalloh, General Manager of Health Insurance at UAP Old Mutual General Insurance, AfyaImara Seniors Cover guarantees a quality, healthy life with financial freedom.
"No one is too old to benefit from good medical coverage," Japheth stated. "Afyaimara Seniors guarantees a quality, healthy life with financial freedom," he added.
The solution offers higher limits for chronic and pre-existing conditions, annual wellness check-ups, and referral services to accredited overseas partners for conditions not covered locally.
Policyholders can choose from inpatient limits ranging from Ksh. 500,000 to Ksh. 10,000,000 and optional outpatient cover ranging from Ksh. 50,000 to Ksh. 200,000 for routine outpatient services, consultations, diagnostics, drugs, and dressings.
"We have made this cover affordable while also ensuring that there will be no excess for inpatient cover and that our customers can pay their premiums for inpatient cover in instalments," Japheth explained.
