Las Vegas, United States - August 21, 2021, marked a significant day for boxing fans as Manny Pacquiao and Yordenis Ugas faced off at the weigh-in ahead of their highly anticipated welterweight title showdown.

Despite being the heavy favorite, Pacquiao weighed in at 146 pounds, while Ugas, the World Boxing Association welterweight champion, tipped the scales at 147 pounds.

Ugas took on the fight on just 11 days' notice after Errol Spence Jr. pulled out due to an eye injury, giving Pacquiao a chance to settle a score at the T-Mobile Arena.

Pacquiao, who is returning to the ring after a two-year absence, expressed his determination to win the fight, stating, "I’m not taking this fight lightly. Of course, I don’t want to be overconfident for this fight. I want to make sure tomorrow I get the victory."

Ugas, on the other hand, is quietly plotting an ambush, having initially been due to face Fabian Maidana on the undercard but agreeing to step in to face Pacquiao after Spence’s withdrawal.

"I have a lot of respect for him so I’m very excited," Ugas said. "I have the belt. Whoever wins tomorrow gets the belt, but right now I’m the champion, and I’m ready."
