KEBS Bans 27 Substandard Unga Brands in Kenya

On August 20, 2021, the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) issued a warning to the public against consuming 27 brands of locally produced flour.

The agency cited that these 27 unga brands do not meet the required standards.

As a result, the listed manufacturers have been instructed to recall the substandard maize meal and flour products from the market.

Here is the list of affected brands:

  • Pembe
  • 26 other unga brands
