On July 3, 2019, a suspect in a human trafficking case was released on bail at the Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi. Dismas Young, who was charged with human trafficking and forgery, had allegedly recruited one Gladys Kathini Mwangani by means of deception for the purpose of exploitation between February 7 and June 1, 2019, at Information House on Mfangano Street.
The accused was charged with two more counts of making a document without authority contrary to Section 357 (A) of the Penal Code. He was accused of making a National Employment Authority certificate and a police clearance certificate, both purporting to be genuine, without lawful authority or excuse and with intent to deceive.
Appearing before Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi, Dismas Young's lawyer prayed for lenient bail terms. The suspect was released on a cash bail of Sh500,000 or an alternative bond of Sh1,000,000.
The case was set for hearing on August 6, 2019.
