On July 2, 2019, a Nairobi court arraigned Dismas Young, a man accused of human trafficking and forgery, before a Nairobi court.

Young was accused of recruiting Gladys Kathini Mwangani by means of deception for the purpose of exploitation between February 7 and June 1, 2019, at Information House on Mfangano Street.

He was further charged with two counts of making a document without authority, contrary to Section 357 (A) of the Penal Code.

According to court documents, Young made a National Employment Authority certificate and a police clearance certificate without lawful authority or excuse, with intent to deceive.

Appearing before Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi, Young's lawyer prayed for lenient bail terms.

Young was released on a cash bail of Ksh.500,000 or an alternative bond of Ksh.1,000,000.

The case was set for hearing on August 6, 2019.
