On July 2, 2019, Crown Paints announced a strategic partnership with German firm WACKER to distribute Wacker Silicone Sealants, marking a significant move to expand its business and solidify its market leadership.

According to Chief Executive Officer Rakesh Rao, Crown Paints aims to continuously seek out corporations with cutting-edge technologies to address emerging challenges in the market and meet customer demands in the construction industry.

"We want to provide more value to our customers by ensuring we meet all their requirements with the latest technologies in the market," Rao said. "This will enable us to remain the number one brand in the market."

Under the new arrangement, customers will have access to three new products from WACKER, including WACKER ® GP, a general-purpose acetoxy silicone sealant used for industrial and DIY applications, and WACKER ® CS, a neutral, low-modulus silicone sealant with outstanding adhesion for construction and exterior weather-sealing applications.

WACKER ® GS, an acetoxy silicone sealant used for sanitary applications, is also part of the distribution deal. This product is mildew-resistant and designed for areas exposed to high humidity.

"WACKER and Crown Paints share a long history of delivering sustainable construction chemicals and products to the African markets," said Anoop D'Souza, Regional Business Manager – Construction Silicones at Wacker Chemicals Middle East. "We are committed to offering the industry's highest quality construction sealants for emerging markets and trust the expertise of Crown Paints will contribute to uplifting the construction industry in Kenya."
