On June 24, 2019, Raphael Ongangi, a Kenyan national and cargo logistics business owner, was kidnapped at the intersection of Karume-Msasani Road in Dar es Salaam's Oysterbay neighborhood.
His wife, Veronica Kundya, confirmed to Tanzanian newspaper The Citizen that her husband had been found alive in Mombasa.
Ms Kundya expressed gratitude to those who participated in the search for her husband, saying, "I thank God and each and everyone out for playing a role, in one way or the other, in accomplishing this."
Mr Ongangi's abduction sparked widespread concern, with mounting pressures from various quarters in Tanzania demanding his release, including opposition leaders, ruling party MPs, and social media users who launched the #BringBackRaphaelOngangi hashtag on Twitter.
