On July 2, 2019, Sebastian Maina Ngunju, a man claiming to be the father of Zachary Musengi, the late George Saitoti's son, filed a petition at the High Court demanding a DNA test to establish paternity.

Musengi's paternity has been a subject of controversy for over seven years, with Ngunju alleging that he was abducted and raised by Saitoti.

However, in 2017, the Court of Appeal judges Philip Waki, Patrick Kiage, and Roselyn Nambuye concluded that Musengi was not Ngunju's son, and the matter was withdrawn through a mutual understanding between the parties in 2013.

Despite this, Ngunju is now seeking a DNA test to lay the matter to rest, citing the need for the court to establish the truth and make a verdict on Musengi's paternity.

George Saitoti died in a helicopter crash in 2012.
