On July 2, 2019, Governor Mike Sonko celebrated a major milestone in the life of his adopted daughter, Janneta Nyamu, who graduated from Daystar University with a Diploma in Business.

As a token of appreciation for her hard work, the Governor gifted her a sleek new Mercedes Benz, which she was overjoyed to receive.

Janetta took to her Instagram page to express her gratitude to her adoptive parents, Mike Sonko and his wife, for their unwavering support and love throughout her journey.

She wrote, 'Not all angels have wings because some are ordinary people living ordinary lives but they have special qualities that touch our hearts and souls in special ways. To my heavenly sent angel, to the parents that I am so privileged to call mine @mamacounty_047 @mike.sonko. Today I graduate from one of the best Christian university in East Africa and I lack ways to show my gratitude for all that you have done for me.'

Janetta also revealed that she was orphaned at an early age and the Sonkos took her in 13 years ago, raising her as their own.

She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to her adoptive parents, saying, 'Never in my wildest dream did I even think I will reach this far until you saw me fit to be part of your perfect family?. It’s been 13 years of going from an orphan to someone who has a perfect family.'

Janetta's post was filled with love and appreciation for her adoptive parents, who she credited with giving her a voice and a place in the world.
