On July 2, 2019, a private ceremony was held at the Hindu crematorium in Kariokor, Nairobi, to lay to rest Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore.
Collymore's body had been at the Lee funeral home since July 1, 2019, after he passed away at his Nairobi home following a long battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, a rare form of cancer that is curable at its first stages.
Police stood guard at the entrance of the crematorium to ensure only close family members and friends attended the event, which was witnessed by invited guests only.
