On July 2, 2019, a suspected child trafficker was taken into custody by police in Nairobi's Kayole area.
More than 10 children were rescued from the woman's house, where eyewitnesses claim they had been locked in.
Area residents reported that the children, mostly of Somali origin, appeared to be under the influence of a substance, as they did not seem sane.
One resident, Jakababa, described the children's condition, saying, "Most of the children looked like they had been drugged or something because they did not look sane."
A woman who lost her child over 10 years ago expressed hope that her son might be among the rescued children.
The suspect is currently being held at the Soweto Police Station.
