On July 2, 2019, Michael Khateli, the photographer of choice for President Uhuru Kenyatta, captured the intimate moments of Bob Collymore's private wedding to Wambui Kamiru in Naivasha.
Bob, the late Safaricom CEO, met Wambui, the founder of The Art Space gallery in Nairobi, during a fundraiser for survivors of the Loreto Convent Msongari school bus crash in July 2011.
After a brief romance, the couple tied the knot at the registrar's office in Naivasha, with only 11 people in attendance, including musician Juliani.
Following the Naivasha wedding, the couple hosted an exclusive reception at an upmarket residence in Kitisuru, which was attended by the who's who in the industry, including Radio Africa CEO Patrick Quarcoo and Scangroup CEO Bharat Thakrar.
On the day of the wedding, Bob shared his hopes for the afterlife, saying, 'If there are ghosts, I will come and rustle the curtains and on birthdays when you light the candles for my children, I will come and help blow them out.'
He also told his friends, 'If I get three more days, I will be lucky.' When asked what they should do if he passed away, Bob urged them to 'stay together, stand by Wambui.'
These heartwarming moments were captured by Michael Khateli, who has released the exclusive photos of the couple's special day.
