The nation is still reeling from the shock of the passing of Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore, who left an indelible mark on the lives of many Kenyans.

Collymore's legacy extends far beyond his role as a CEO, as he was a true champion of the arts and a supporter of local talent.
Through initiatives like Twaweza, Safaricom Jazz, and Safaricom Live, he gave countless artists a platform to showcase their skills and share their stories with the world.
King of Genge Jua Cali, one of the many artists who benefited from Collymore's support, remembered him as a great man who mingled with anyone, despite his status.
'Collymore has been very supportive of Kenyan music since he joined Safaricom,' Jua Cali said in a phone interview. 'In His journey, he has been with us all through. During Safaricom Live, he would travel to wherever the event was just to support us. His support was not just in the boardroom. He has been a great anchor for the music industry.'
Collymore's impact extended beyond the music industry, as he also empowered the youth through various programs, including Blaze, Ghetto Classics, and the M-Pesa Foundation Academy.
His love for art was evident in his frequent visits to his wife's art gallery, Art Space Gallery, along Riverside Drive.
Gospel artiste Gloria Muliro, who worked with Safaricom for many years, remembered Collymore as a man who was 'so down to earth' and easy to approach.
'The first time I ever came closer to him was two years ago, and he was a humble person, easy going and he mingled with everyone he met,' Muliro said. 'I pray that the Lord rest his soul in eternal peace.'
