On a historic day at Wimbledon, 15-year-old Cori Gauff made headlines by becoming the youngest qualifier for the singles tournament. Her impressive debut saw her take down five-time champion Venus Williams in a thrilling first-round match.

Gauff, who was not even born when Williams won her first two Wimbledon singles titles, showed remarkable composure on Court One, making light of the 24-year age difference.

"I don't really know how to feel," Gauff said, overcome with emotion after her victory. "This was definitely the first time I ever cried after a match, winning!"

Despite Williams' valiant efforts, Gauff's determination and skill ultimately paid off, as she secured a 6-4, 6-4 win.

Williams, who had looked increasingly lost during the encounter, broke back in the second set and saved several match points, but ultimately succumbed to Gauff's impressive play.

After the match, Gauff paid tribute to her family, who had supported her throughout her tennis journey. "I don't even know what my parents will be saying," she said. "I'm just so happy and blessed that they spent all their time on me and my brothers in making sure that we're successful."

Williams, gracious in defeat, congratulated Gauff on her victory and wished her well in her future endeavors.
