On July 1, 2019, Sebastian Maina Ngunju, a man claiming to be the biological father of Zachary Saitoti, Professor George Saitoti's son, returned to court in a bid to resolve a long-standing paternity dispute.
Ngunju is suing Saitoti's widow, Margaret Wanjiku Saitoti, seeking a declaration that he is the biological father of Stephen Wachira, who is allegedly being raised under a different name, Zachary Musengi.
He also wants the court to order a DNA test to prove his alleged paternity of Zachary Saitoti and for the results to be submitted as evidence.
Alternatively, Ngunju is seeking an order granting him unrestricted access to Stephen Wachira, alias Zachary Musengi.
Ngunju has accused Saitoti's widow of interfering with a similar case and causing him and his family untold suffering and agony.
According to court papers, Ngunju claims that he and his wife, Elizabeth Njeri Maina, had a son named Stephen Wachira on September 21, 1985, and that they were diligent in his upbringing until he went missing on August 31, 1988.
Ngunju alleges that Saitoti's widow kidnapped and abducted Wachira, who is currently in her care and custody.
