Uasin Gishu County women representative Gladys Sholei has called on President Uhuru Kenyatta to publicly declare his relationship with Deputy President William Ruto, despite the growing divisions within the Jubilee Party.

Sholei's call comes as the party is on the verge of collapse, with members divided into two factions: the Tanga Tanga and the Kieleweke.

According to Sholei, the President's public declaration would help to calm the political temperature within the party, which is facing a crisis due to the succession politics of 2022.

Sholei also noted that Deputy President Ruto has not had a peaceful relationship with the President since Uhuru formed an alliance with Raila Odinga.

"It is time for the President to publicly declare his relationship with the Deputy President, assuring Kenyans that there is no conflict or animosity between them," Sholei said.
