Published on July 1, 2019, the inaugural Cooperative Alliance of Kenya (CAK) Ushirika 9.1km race saw Daniel Simiyu and Lydia Njeri take home the top prizes.

Simiyu, a 24-year-old from Iten, won the men's category in 25 minutes and 10.9 seconds after breaking away from the pack at the 6km mark. He edged out Edwin Kiplimo from Keringet, who finished second in 25:34.1, and Emmanuel Kipchirchir from Kaptagat, who took third place in 25:36.1.

Njeri, a 34-year-old from Iten and training partner of Nancy Chelagat and Judith Cherono, dominated the women's category, winning in 28:55.7. She outpaced Chelagat and Cherono to take the top spot, with Chelagat finishing second in 29:07.7 and Cherono third in 29:13.5.

Simiyu attributed his win to his preparation for upcoming races, including the Baringo Half Marathon and an international half marathon in South Africa. Njeri, who is with the One4One Management, stated that she wanted to keep herself in shape for any race that could crop up.
