On a sweltering afternoon in the Styrian Alps, Max Verstappen delivered a spectacular, uplifting conclusion to the Austrian Grand Prix, passing Charles Leclerc on the final lap to claim his sixth career win.
Verstappen's dramatic triumph for Red Bull ended Mercedes' early-season stranglehold on the title race and blew away talk of crisis and calls for knee-jerk rule changes.
Leclerc, who had started from pole position, was left disappointed after losing his maiden Grand Prix victory in the final few laps.
However, the two drivers quickly put their differences aside, with Verstappen declaring that the race stewards' decision to confirm his victory was 'the right decision for the sport.'
Verstappen and Leclerc reconciled their differences following a frosty post-race silence before and during the podium ceremony, with the Dutchman saying, 'We're good, we're good. Already, after the stewards, we're good.'
Verstappen also praised Leclerc, saying, 'He will come far... I think we have another 15-20 years' racing together.'
