Upper Hill Dominates Prescott Cup Semifinals ¶
On July 1, 2019, the Prescott Cup semifinals took place, with Upper Hill emerging as the better side after a convincing 58-3 win over host Lenana school.
Upper Hill was initially set to face Rift Valley Academy (RVA) in the semifinals, but RVA pulled out of the tournament prior to the semis, leaving the spot open for Changez.
Speaking after the match, Changez coach Evans Ojwang' expressed his team's disappointment, stating that they lost to a better side due to a lack of preparation time.
"We lost most of the comedown, but as you understand, our opponents are bigger, they have mass, and my boys are smaller. We played a good game, and we lost to a good team," Ojwang' said.
Upper Hill's coach, Thomas Walgwe, was not impressed with the team's start, citing a lack of competitive games to use as a training platform.
"It was a bit frustrating at the beginning because Upper Hill has better starts than that. We haven’t played rugby in the past three weeks, and I was aiming not to show that to our opponents," Walgwe said.
Upper Hill will face Dagoretti High in the finals, who made it to the final on a walkover basis after Alliance High School failed to produce a team.
"We are going to meet a good Dagoretti side. We faced them in the county finals, and we have an idea of who we are going to face," Walgwe said.
