Published on July 1, 2019, Harambee Stars striker Michael Olunga has admitted that Taifa Stars gave them a tough game in their recent match.
Olunga, who scored twice to help his team come from behind twice to beat Taifa Stars 3-2 at the 30 June stadium in Cairo, praised his teammates for their hard work and dedication.
"It was a good performance and we thank God for this opportunity," Olunga said.
He added that the team had to fight hard against their Tanzanian rivals, who gave them a hard time especially through players like Msuva, Samatta, and Ulimwengu.
However, Olunga promised that Harambee Stars will continue working hard to achieve their goals, and thanked their travelling fans for their support.
Kenya now has a chance to play in the round of 16, but they face a tough game against Senegal in their last group game.
"It's a tough game we can't say it's going to be easy task but this is football, we have 90 minutes and keep the hard work and see how it goes," Olunga said.
Meanwhile, Uganda Cranes defender Murushid Jjuuko remains a big doubt to face Egypt in the final Group A clash at Cairo International Stadium tonight.
According to head coach Sebastien Desabre, Jjuuko picked a hamstring and was advised by the medical team to rest for at least ten days.
Although Jjuuko returned to training, he is most likely to remain out of the starting eleven with the hosts.
