On Monday, June 1, 2019, Safaricom's board chairman Nicholas Ng'ang'a announced that the funeral of the late CEO Bob Collymore will take place on Tuesday, July 2.
Ng'ang'a stated that despite Collymore's popularity among Kenyans, his funeral will be attended by close family and friends only.
"There will be a private burial ceremony on Tuesday for the family only. On Thursday and Friday, there will be memorial services attended by friends," Ng'ang'a said.
Collymore's memorial service will be held to celebrate his life and legacy as the CEO of Safaricom, a position he has held since 2010 when he succeeded Michael Joseph.
TUKO.co.ke attended a meeting between Safaricom's management and the media shortly after Collymore's passing was announced to the public.
