On July 7, 2021, the murder of two police constables, John Ogweno and Peter Ndwiga, sent shockwaves through the nation. The case has now drawn the attention of city lawyer Cliff Ombeta, who has weighed in on the matter.

According to the DCI, Caroline Kangogo is the main suspect in the murder of the two constables. Ombeta has advised the DCI to allow Kangogo to surrender to the detectives with an assurance of fair treatment.

“DCI, do this: Give her space to come in (surrender) assure her of fair treatment and access to justice. Uncork your weapons and bloodthirsty attitude so that we avoid extrajudicial killings,” Ombeta noted.

He believes that Kangogo has a story to tell and should be given a chance to speak up. Ombeta has asked the DCI to call upon the public to avoid instant mob justice in case Kangogo is spotted.

“She definitely will have a story. Ask the public to avoid instant/mob justice if spotted,” he wrote in conclusion.
