Jubilee to Hold Unity Meeting, Ruto Announces ¶
Deputy President William Ruto has announced that the Jubilee party will hold a unity meeting, scheduled for June 30, 2019.
Speaking at PCEA St Luke Mihang'o church, Ruto emphasized that the party is preparing for the 2022 general elections and will not be left behind.
"I have seen other parties like ODM and Ford Kenya preparing, and we as Jubilee will also prepare to bring all our members together and continue our journey of uniting all Kenyans," Ruto said.
The announcement comes at a time when the Jubilee party is facing numerous challenges, including internal divisions and party infighting.
Two factions have emerged within the party, with one led by Ruto and the other by former Jubilee Secretary-General Raphael Tuju.
Tuju has been at the center of controversy after he was accused of planning to oust Ruto from the party.
Despite the challenges, Ruto remains optimistic about the party's future and has called for unity among its members.
"This Jubilee was formed by me and President Uhuru Kenyatta, and our goal was to end tribal and regional politics and focus on issues-based politics," Ruto added.
The unity meeting is expected to bring together all Jubilee party members and discuss the party's future.
