Published on July 1, 2019, a bus crash in Indian-administered Kashmir resulted in the deaths of at least 20 people.
The bus, which was overcrowded, skidded off a road in the remote Kishtwar region and fell into a deep, narrow valley.
Senior police official M. K. Sinha stated that 20 passengers died instantly, while 10 others were badly injured.
Seven of those injured were in critical condition and were evacuated to a nearby hospital.
According to official figures, approximately 150,000 people die in road accidents on average each year in India.
Another road accident occurred in neighbouring Himachal Pradesh, resulting in the deaths of three school students and their driver, as reported by the Press Trust of India.
Just last week, 11 students on their way to a picnic were killed when their bus fell into a gorge in Shopian district of Kashmir.
