Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore Passes Away After Cancer Battle

On July 1, 2019, the business world mourned the loss of Safaricom Chief Executive Officer Bob Collymore, who succumbed to cancer at the age of 61.

Collymore had been battling leukemia for quite some time, taking a leave from Safaricom in October 2017 to receive treatment in the UK.

After completing his treatment in July 2018, Collymore returned to Kenya and continued undergoing treatment in various hospitals, including the Aga Khan Hospital.

He leaves behind a loving wife and four children.
