Suspected Chicken Thief Narrowly Escapes Death in Kisii

On Sunday, a suspected chicken thief narrowly escaped death after being accosted by irate villagers in Nyosia area, Kisii County.

According to area Chief Alexander Nyakenyua, the suspect allegedly stole four chickens from a homestead in Ibaria village at around 5:30am.

The suspect was intercepted by a security guard who was headed home from work at the time, and the guard raised alarm, waking up area residents who descended on the suspect with kicks and blows.

The suspect is currently recuperating at the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital, where he was later admitted by police officers responding to the scene.

Confirming the incident, Chief Nyakenyua stated that the suspect's life was spared due to the timely intervention of the security guard.
