Kenyan center referee Peter Waweru has been assigned to officiate the AFCON Group D match between Namibia and Ivory Coast on July 1, 2019.

Waweru, the only Kenyan center referee at the tournament, will take charge of his first match in the competition.

Kenyan assistant referee Gilbert Cheruiyot served as a second assistant referee on June 29, 2019, during the match between Ghana and Cameroon.

Meanwhile, Harambee Stars have intensified training ahead of their match against Senegal on July 1, 2019, with the team needing to avoid defeat to secure passage to the round of 16.

Stars have also been boosted by the return of defender Joash Onyango in training, who missed the opening two games with an ankle injury.
