On June 28, 2019, a tragic incident occurred in Kahawa Wendani, where a 29-year-old pharmacy student, Felix Otieno, lost his life in a senseless act of violence.
According to reports, Otieno was shot dead by gunmen who stormed his girlfriend's house around 11pm on that fateful night.
The police in Ruiru are still trying to piece together the circumstances surrounding the incident, which resulted in the death of the young student.
It is reported that Otieno was playing computer games with a friend when the gunmen fired two bullets, one of which ripped through his abdomen.
Fortunately, Otieno's friend was unhurt in the incident, but the young student succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on arrival at a nearby clinic.
As of Saturday evening, detectives from the elite Crime Prevention Unit were still investigating the incident, and the motive behind the crime remains unknown.
Ruiru Police chief James Ngetich was quoted by the Sunday Standard as saying, 'There are many issues coming up but we are hoping to unravel the reasons. We need to know who the killers are, if they were robbers and why they picked on the student (Otieno),'
