Published on June 30, 2019, Moringa has been a trusted remedy in many African and Asian households for generations. My grandmother, in particular, relied on Moringa to treat various ailments, from stomach pains to cuts and bruises.

As I delved deeper into the world of herbs and spices, I was amazed to find that Moringa boasts an impressive array of health and nutritional benefits, all while possessing a sweet and flavorful taste.

Moringa oleifera, the most widely cultivated species, is native to parts of Africa and Asia. Also known as the miracle tree, horseradish tree, drumstick tree, or ben oil tree, Moringa has earned its reputation as a miracle plant.

From treating oedema and mood disorders to protecting the liver and reducing high blood pressure, Moringa's benefits are numerous and well-documented. Its leaves can be dried and crushed into a powder, which can be added to a variety of dishes, from sauces and milkshakes to soups and tea.

Moringa powder is widely available in major supermarkets and health product shops, with prices varying depending on the location. On average, 100g of Moringa powder costs around Sh300.
