Patricia Mbatia, founder of Game Changer Marketing, has always been driven by her passion for creativity and making a positive impact. Born and raised in rural Kenya, Mbatia's upbringing instilled in her the values of hard work, being good to people, and finding her calling.
After completing her education, Mbatia discovered her first love – Experiential Marketing. She worked for a South Africa-based agency before setting up Game Changer Marketing, which is celebrating its fifth year in operation.
As a creative director, Mbatia's job entails finding workable solutions for problems in the marketing space. She loves to think of herself as the Chief Ideas Officer, striving to make a difference to the lives of her family, colleagues, clients, vendors, and the people around her.
When asked about her greatest strength, Mbatia believes in challenging the status quo and having creative courage to offer new answers to her clients' questions. She insists that her team push the envelope on creativity, as boring is invisible and they are in the business of creating lasting emotional impressions.
One of Mbatia's greatest joys is seeing a brand experience come to life and connect deeply and emotionally with its intended audience. She enjoys the challenge of creating emotive solutions and immersive brand experiences that turn people into the biggest advocates for her clients.
Despite facing challenges in her line of duty, Mbatia finds inspiration everywhere, from her brothers and sister to people on her Instagram feed, Goalcast, and Tedtalks. She believes in the power of positive messages and people doing amazing things rather than just talking about it.
When free, Mbatia loves stories, books, and film. She believes that books and movies are experiential, transporting her to another world. Her love of stories has carried over into her adulthood, and she hopes to create a positive ripple effect in the lives of others and the world at large.
As for her mantra, Mbatia lives by Maya Angelou's quote: 'People will forget what you said; people will forget what you did; but people will always remember how you made them feel.'
Looking to the future, Mbatia plans to find more joy through disruptive but relevant creativity, building amazing brand experiences, and bridging the disparity between people and brands.
